Shockwave Flash was causing my browser 40.0.3 to start videos I did not want to play, I added an add-on to block Shockwave Flash; however, this became very cumbersome to enable and disable when i go to sites that required Flash like a greeting card site. I found another add-on called 'Video without Flash', it told me to remove 'shockwave Flash' I did, now I can not get any video on the greeting card site. Is the problem that I removed Shockwave Flash or something else, I have the latest Flash Player from Adobe.

Hikvision's current use of NPAPI plugin for web browsers to display video no longer works in Google Chrome v45 (since September 2015) and in Firefox v52.0 released 7th march 2017. This means users will no longer be able to successfully install the web browser plugin which is needed to view cameras/NVR video in Chrome or Firefox. All IP cameras require a plugin to display their video stream in a web browser, and normally this poses no issue. The browser and camera will prompt you automatically to download and install the plugin when you try and view a live feed or, if you already have done so, will ask your permission to run the plugin.After installation, you will be able to live view most of Hikvision DVR/IPC/Encoder on Safari for Mac. 1 Version: V3.0.6.23 build20180123 2 Support Mac OS 10.8 or later version.
Safari on the other hand does not automatically do this when running on a Mac, and so requires you to download and install the plugin manually. For many of our customers who aren't aware of this, it appears to them that their camera simply doesn't work. Thankfully, it's a very quick and straightforward issue to remedy.

- Hikvision's Overseas Website - On this site, you're after the file named 'Plug-in V3.0.5.26 build20150126 for Mac OS' (or a newer version). You may need to create an account to access the download, and so the below might be a preferable alternative.
- Hikvision's European Download Portal - This site provides a direct download to the same plugin as above. Of course, do ensure you're downloading the 'for macosx' file.
